My daughter went to the ophthalmologist for the first time some time ago. I specifically asked for a pediatric specialist and they gave me an appointment with a doctor named Contreras Orozco. We arrived for the appointment, we were on time, but the appointment was delayed because this man was still in consultation. We finally got in, and it was a terrible experience. We spent more time getting in than getting out. We only managed to ask the so-called pediatric specialist, who clearly wasn't one, two questions. And he answered with sarcasm and irony. Even if the man had done a good job, who could do a proper examination in 10 or 15 minutes? Obviously, even with glasses, my daughter couldn't see well. We had to wait to find a real pediatric specialist who could examine her thoroughly and finally give her a proper diagnosis. We never went back.

I had simultaneous multifocal lens replacement procedure in both eyes. And whereas this idea stressed me out initially, the procedure went very well and the outcome was fantastic. Dr. Juan Pablo Rodriguez explained each step, and what to expect in the initial weeks post-surgery. The personnel in the operating room were very friendly and attentive and follow up visits went well. Even parking was easy (they validate). It has been close to 5 months and my vision continues to improve. Do note that most lens replacement (especially multifocal) will cause halos, which are supposed to disappear as your brain adjusts. I was a little taken aback by that, but from I have read, it is quite normal. I still see them, albeit less, especially when driving at night – I’m hoping they eventually go away. All in all, I highly recommend Clinica de Ojos de Tijuana.

Parking can sometimes be difficult, but that's the case throughout the Rio Zone, so it's best to arrive with plenty of time and be prepared.

They're actually good doctors, but they schedule an appointment and then take you to the office three hours later. I find it unprofessional that they don't respect their appointments or your time. I've been several times now and the same thing happens! Last time I arrived early and didn't leave until they were almost closing. (If you're someone who's always pressed for time, this isn't the place for you.)
