THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A DOCTOR. I wasn't the patient; it was my mother. At the time, he examined her (aggressively and with a condescending tone from the start) and diagnosed her with fibromyalgia. My mother mentioned that she was seeing a psychologist, and this "doctor" threatened to withhold treatment if she continued seeing the psychologist. I say threatened because he told her he was one of "the only two specialists in the state who could give her the correct treatment." His words were, "If you're going to keep going there, you better tell me, I'll tear up the prescription and leave it at that." It wasn't fibromyalgia; it was cancer. My mother died while receiving treatment from another specialist, obviously, but to this day, one of my biggest regrets is not having torn up that prescription and left that office right then and there.
