Dra. Thais Landa Chávez

Dr. Thais Landa is a physician who specializes in Internal Medicine and is board certified by the Mexican College of Internal Medicine. She has extensive experience in Primary Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, inpatient and outpatient care. Her core competencies include internal medicine, primary care, urgent care, prevention, chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, overweight and obesity. Dr. Landa studied Medical School at Anahuac University with an ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certification from the U.S.A. She earned an MD in Internal Medicine from Hospital Angeles with a Title from La Salle University. She also completed a fellowship in Obesity Overweight and Metabolic Diseases at Hospital Regional 1º Octubre – ISSSTE with a Title from Mexico National University (UNAM). Dr. Landa manages both acute and chronic illnesses and performs physician examinations, body composition readings, vital signs and complex analyses to determine the most appropriate and individualized treatment. She provides diagnosis, treatment and counsel to her patients and evaluates and recognizes patients who require immediate attention. She determines abnormal conditions by ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, imaging studies and laboratory tests. Dr. Landa provides primary care services such as diagnosis and treatment of basic health problems and follow-up with outpatient care, periodic office visits and follow-up laboratory tests. She sets treatment goals with chronic illnesses and commits to these goals with empathy. Dr. Landa has been responsible for case management and medication management for both inpatients and outpatients. She has a private practice as an Internal Medicine physician. She participated in interdisciplinary committee meetings where they determined the most appropriate treatment for metabolic or bariatric surgery. Working within the hospital setting, Dr. Landa has experience in admission, inpatient diagnosis, treatment and discharge. She worked as an attending physician in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Dr. Landa has lived abroad for many years and is fluent in native English. She provides medical attention with a bi-cultural approach that is sensitive to the needs of her patients.
