A sonohysterogram is an ultrasound examination of the uterus performed after saline solution is injected through the cervix to expand the uterine cavity. This diagnostic procedure allows for detailed visualization of the uterine lining and cavity to evaluate for abnormalities such as fibroids, polyps, or structural issues.
